Te Kākano o te Totara is a development programme created by Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu, the Whānau Ora Commissioning Agency for the South Island. Te Putahitanga seeks to nurture emerging leaders that are recognised by their whānau or community as future champions of Whānau Ora. The initiative is aimed at emerging leaders who are actively involved in the advancement of their whānau. Te Kākano o te Totara supports the growth of these emerging leaders through wānanga, networking, coaching, and mentors to pursue whānau transformation.
