Creative New Zealand Toi Aotearoa (www.creativenz.govt.nz) has developed a policy that sets out what it means by “toi hapori” or “community arts”. This will guide the way it supports community arts activities in New Zealand. As part of this policy development the organisation is consulting with arts groups throughout the country by means of an online questionnaire and is particularly keen to hear from Māori communities who actively maintain their distinctive artistic and cultural traditions.
