In August 2020, targeted changes were made to Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 that will come into force on 6 February 2021. These changes will better support Māori land owners to connect with and use their whenua. This page provides information about the changes proposed when the Bill was introduced in September 2019.

Te Ture Whenua Māori (Succession, Dispute Resolution, and Related Matters) Amendment Bill was introduced to the House of Representatives on 19 September 2019.
