A report on the progress made on implementation of Waitangi Tribunal recommendations to the Crown for the period 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023.
Section 8I of the Treaty of Waitangi Act 1975 requires the Minister for Māori Development to report to the House of Representatives each year on the progress being made in the implementation of recommendations made to the Crown by the Waitangi Tribunal.
This report has updates for 37 Tribunal reports (five released within 1 July 2022 and 30 June 2023) and includes a feature presentation detailing the claims process in its entirety, covering the Waitangi Tribunal process from the moment claims are lodged , through to settlement and post-settlement. It looks at how this process ties into Section 8I report agency update contributions, and into the function of the Section 8i report as part of the claims process.
