The 2004 Statement of Intent recognised that Te Puni Kōkiri contributed towards both Māori Specific Outcomes and Universal Outcomes in order to achieve the Strategic Outcome of Māori succeeding as Māori.
In 2005 Te Puni Kōkiri has refined its approach to Māori Affairs policy, to achieve a better balance between realising Māori potential and remedying deficit. We will place a greater emphasis on leading policy advice that promotes the strengths of Māori. 68 pages.
