The Briefings for the Incoming Ministers (BIMs) outline the roles of the Ministers and the key issues in their respective portfolios – Māori Development and Whānau Ora. They also outline how Te Puni Kōkiri supports the Ministers to achieve their priorities.
Both BIMs set out the key issues and decisions each Minister will need to make in their first months leading up to Waitangi Day 2018. A proposed short to medium term agenda for actions over 2017-2020 is also presented. This discussion is informed by Te Puni Kōkiri's thinking about how future trends are likely to affect iwi, hapū, whānau and Māori by 2040, the 200th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.
