About the Puni

The Programme Support Office is part of the Organisational Support (OS) Puni.  The role of this Puni is to support Te Puni Kōkiri by providing the processes, systems and advice that enables the organisation to build and maintain capability and to operate efficiently and effectively.

About the role:

The Senior Advisor, reports to the Manager Programme Support within the OS Puni.  In this role you will be responsible for supporting the Manager and team with the development and embedding of Te Puni Kōkiri’s Programme / Project Planning Methodology and assisting Project Planners with the Projects that they are leading and supporting.

You will be a natural relationship manager with previous experience in a centralised Programme or Project Management Office.  You will bring a strong customer focus to your mahi and be an advocate to help enhance staff awareness, understanding and capability of project planning disciplines and approaches across Te Puni Kōkiri.

Skills and Experience:

We are very keen to hear from you if you have:

  • Proven skills and experience in a Programme or Project Management Office environment
  • An solid understanding of Tikanga Māori and Te Ao Māori
  • A natural ability to help coach and mentor other staff in Project methodology and approaches
  • Previous exposure and understanding to the principles of co-design
  • Experience in the development and delivery of accessible project tools, templates and reporting
  • The ability to lead or support project planning workshops with key stakeholders and peers
  • The ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships and to develop trust and credibility with your peers and key internal and external stakeholders
  • A commitment to creativity, innovation and process improvement and generating new ideas and ways of doing things.
