If you are an artist, weaver or designer you will be interested in this!
A pattern of your creation may be used in tukutuku panels that will enhance the New Zealand wall in the United Nations Headquarters General Assembly building in New York. You are invited to submit a pattern for consideration. If your pattern is chosen, it may either appear in part or whole, in one of 25 pairs of tukutuku panels being created for permanent display on one of the most famous buildings in the world.

Staff visited five schools with significant Māori student populations and/or Māori language programmes. All schools reported significant decline in student numbers (especially Māori students), although all students have been located. Also, some teachers have left Christchurch and their future plans are unclear.

Te Puni Kōkiri has 11 staff on the ground as at yesterday and continues to rotate our Christchurch based staff with head office and regional staff. 30 Māori Wardens are deployed at Christchurch East and are now based at the Roy Stokes Hall in New Brighton. 16 of these are on duty at any one time. Ngai Tahu and TPK are continuing to facilitate and broker a co-ordinated and complementary effort between the government and Māori sector. Focus remains on Christchurch East.
