The Māori Economic Development Panel (MEDP) is holding their second engagement Hui from 10am at the Conference Centre, 585 Great South Road, Penrose. The first Hui which was held in Wellington on 22 March was a great success with about 100 participants from business people, representatives of iwi and Māori organisations, academics, economists and whānau.
The aim of the Hui are to gather views on the Panel’s Discussion Document which notes that the Māori and New Zealand economies are at an important crossroads with significant challenges and opportunities ahead. Specifically, the Panel is gathering views about lifting New Zealand’s economic growth and improving Māori participation and contribution in order to raise incomes and living standards.
At the same time one of two NZ Inc China Strategy seminars, being run in Auckland that day, will be held. The second NZ Inc China Strategy seminar will be from 4-5.30pm on the North Shore (at EasiYo Products Ltd, 6 John Glenn Ave, North Harbour).
Anyone interested in participating in both events will be able to attend the MEDP hui in the morning and the NZ Inc China Strategy in the afternoon.
