Wainuiomata Marae and the Kōkiri Marae Keriana Olsen Trust hosted the Matariki Māori Market @ Wainuiomata Marae to mark the Māori New Year.
Māori artists from around the motu displayed and showcased their creative works, skills and talents at the four-day event. Whānau, young and old, from around the Wellington area attended the market too.
Amongst the many displays and skills on show were: raranga, tā moko, artwork, mirimiri, kapa haka, Ki ō Rahi, harvesting and preparation of Rongoa Māori, and healthy eating.
Artists were not charged to display or sell their work but instead contributed a piece of their work for an auction, which concluded the event. All proceeds were donated to Wainuiomata Marae.
